Phonemos User Guide

Preprocessing in Confluence

Run these steps in Confluence before starting the Phonemos import. Whether each step is required depends on what is in your instance — check the macro usage report (Confluence admin → Content → Macro Usage) to see which macros are present.

Preprocessing step

When required

What to do

Convert Wiki-Markup to XHTML based storage

Required if the macro usage report contains any unmigrated-wiki-markup instances. Pages with this macro import as plain text if skipped.

Go to /admin/unmigratedcontent.action and run the bulk conversion. If the count does not reach zero, custom markup tags need database-level cleanup first — see the linked guide.

Convert Gliffy to Drawio

Required if the instance has Gliffy diagrams. Gliffy cannot be migrated directly; draw.io migrates automatically after conversion.

Convert Gliffy diagrams to draw.io format inside Confluence before running the export. See the linked guide for the procedure.

Preprocessing steps are safe to repeat. After running them, re-check the macro usage report to confirm the relevant macro counts have dropped to zero before starting the import.
