The sidebar can show several statistics per object:

The top section with incoming and outgoing links is clickable. It will list incoming or outgooing connections directly.

The usage statistics is also available as metadata on each object, that means you may use it in custom Data charts for dashboards etc. or display it in custom data tables (see Manage structured metadata).
