Licensing scenarios
What licensing models are available?
All licensing models are very similar and you will be receiving the same software solution. We offer the following licensing models:
Phonemos Cloud | Phonemos Cloud is the standard licensing for our Cloud solution. You purchase a subscription and in turn receive the right to use the SaaS service during that term. The subscription fee includes hosting infrastructure, monitoring and operation, licensing and software maintenance costs as well as new software releases during the term. If you are unsure what you are looking for, this is probably what you need. |

Phonemos On Premises | Phonemos On Premises is the standard licensing for our Software deployed on Premises, e.g. in your own data center. Your purchase a subscription and in turn have the right to use the SaaS service during that term. The subscription fee includes licensing and software maintenance costs as well as new software releases during the term. The infrastructure, operation and procurement of third party services like DeepL or LLM subscriptions are up to you and paid by you. The only difference to the Phonemos Cloud terms is, that you take more responsibility for operating the system. |
Phonemos Government Open Source Licensing Agreement | The Phonemos Government Open Source Licensing Agreement is a specialised licensing for European governments looking to achieve digital sovereignty. Imagine this license to be a combination of the above two (as governments can either deploy on cloud or on premises in a mixed setup) plus certain special rights on top. The following rights are granted to European governments (EU/EEA/EFTA) on top:
This agreement does not waive license fees. |
Pricing components and license types
The subscription pricing for the Phonemos platform is build out of the following standard components that can then be extended through options:
Price component | Description |
|---|---|
Base fee | Every Phonemos installation comes with a base fee.
|
Editor licenses | A fee for each user with an editor license. Editors are considered the standard users in Phonemos. A user with editor license can use all functionality that he is permitted to use. At least one editor needs to be licensed to have a useful system. |
Viewer licenses | A fee for each user with a viewer license. Viewers are meant to be used with low engagement users that only require reduced functionality and mostly consume content. A user with viewer license can use only use a restricted subset of the functionality that he may otherwise have permissions for. |
There may be other paid options that can be added to a system to extend functionality or increase quotas.
